Both the .25 update for TheraOffice On-Site users and .23 update for TheraOffice Web users is released. The main focus of this update was on application of ERA’s and support for the ANSI 5010 Institutional Claim file format.
One of the trends we’ve noticed this year when applying payments for therapy has been how many insurance company’s have adopted the same strategies for payments as Medicare such as splitting payments on multi-unit charges. EX: a payer will pay 100% of the 1st unit, 80% of the 2nd unit and so on. With the .25 and .23 updates TheraOffice can apply these payments but also now validates the amounts with a series of alerts when saving the ERA payment. This can be useful to find any irregularities with the way payments have been sent back, written off or denied. We’ve also seen an increase in corrected claim ERA’s where a payer has paid on a claim and then sends back a second ERA with new payments and adjustments. TheraOffice will now detect these corrected claims, check them for any irregularities and then adjust them accordingly automatically.
In addition to the ERA’s TheraOffice now will be supporting the ANSI 5010 Institutional claim file format as well as continuing the support for the UB-04 print and electronic file formats.
Small changes can sometimes make life a lot easier. We’ve made many small but useful additions to TheraOffice as well from user feedback:
- Double clicking on a row in the payments screen will open the appropriate window. Ex: double clicking on the payment will open the Edit Payment window, double clicking on the patient payment will open the patient navigator, and double clicking on the visits will open up the visit window in Accounting.
- Alerts now will display all at the top of the window – no more clicking through alerts.
- Alerts will now be displayed and have the option to stop the operation when copying and pasting an appointment that has a stop action if red.
We’ve made many other small adjustments, and fixes in this update and hope to hear some good feedback.
The development team has been hard at work on some exciting new products that we’ll hopefully be releasing soon.
