In 2013 there will be various changes in health care. The most notable changes for most treating patients in outpatient therapy will have to do with the new Medicare Functional Limitation Reporting and PQRS. We have been tracking these changes for a while and will be fully prepared for them as they become mandatory.
For PQRS, we will have an update available on January 1st, 2013 that will update all of the PQRS CPT codes and questions to the new set. This will be available for download through our Add In Manager in TheraOffice Administrator for TheraOffice On-Site customers and will be automatically updated for TheraOffice Web customers.
For Functional Limitation Reporting, we are still in the process of developing a comprehensive solution that meets all of Medicare’s requirements. This solution will be available to you with plenty of time to test before the July 1st, 2013 deadline, though immediate testing on January 1st is possible through manually adding the codes to the billing section in Documentation or in the visit in Accounting. We will release more details as they become available. If you have any further questions, please let us know, and we’ll be more than happy to answer them.
Thank you.

An update to the functional limitation well BEFORE July 1st would be appreciated. We don’t want to wait until the last minute to be in compliance.
I don’t think it’ll take that long to get out there, we just need to make sure it works and we can get claims paid on before we release anything. TheraOffice is designed to be flexible so as these changes happen we can handle them pretty easily.
for functional reporting, can I add the G codes to the treatment database and fee schedule so that it automatically appears on the billing section?
You can surely manually insert your own G codes then start sending codes on or after Jan 1st. The changes we’ll be making will automate that for you though.
Will it be possible to get the functional limitation codes update by late January or early February? The therapists would like as much time as possible to get used to this before it becomes mandatory in July.
Hopefully this will be released soon so we can all test. I am hopeful the automation will apply to hospital setups and not only private practice.
Thank you!
We are going to begin to submit the PQRS codes in January, I have noticed that all the PQRS Codes are not available. Also, will there be a method for us to report on a group measure such as PQRS 148, 149, 150, & 151?
Are we getting an update on the new medicare changes? If so when?
We have downloaded the new PQRS and CPT codes this morning, but how do I know which changes took effect?
